We are David and Sally Walker who each have over 25 years
experience of owning dogs, cats, rabbits and other small animals as well
as caring for those belonging to family and friends.
At present, we have 2 dogs of our own – Rolf,
a Black Labrador we acquired as a puppy in 2004 and Norris, a black
Terrier cross whom we rescued when his elderly owner died, and who is now
enjoying his teenage years.
Sally has also owned a number of horses and has competed
in one day events and dressage. Additionally she has a wealth of experience
in dealing with people’s requirements during her career in retail
and human resources management.
In February 2009 I was made redundant after 21 years working for a printing
company and although a rest from the factory was more than welcome, retirement
was not an option.
After discussing the possibilities and realising there is a need, Sally
and I decided it would be a good idea to turn something which is close to
both our hearts into more than just a pleasurable pastime and so Walkers
Walkies was born with the primary aim of satisfying the various needs of
pets whose owners can't always be at home and who may be looking for an
alternative to kennels and catteries.
